This is the reed that started it all!

For our Friends (FOF) was designed with much consultations with a group of clarinetist friends - hence the name - for those clarinetists that need a reed with a darker sound. 

They have an ‘American’ cut with a long scrapping. These reeds are made with premium quality cane segments of 3.6 mm which is then rectified to 3.18 mm from material that has been stored to age and season for at least 4 years before being manufactured into reeds.

This scrapping is characterised by the thicker heart of the reed which is offset by the pronounced deeply carved shoulders.  With these the reed is completely released in the bass range, where it vibrates like no other, while a heart with higher density allows attack of the high notes with ease and refinement. This results in an excellent balance between high notes and a rich deep bass end.
